What is Salt Therapy?

Salt Therapy (Speleotherapy) is a 100% natural and non-invasive treatment designed to relieve Respiratory Conditions and treat Skin Disorders.

For those in good health it is used to relieve stress, improve general well being and boost immunity.

Salt Therapy is a tried and medically tested natural therapy that has proven to help reduce congestion and inflammation of the airways and skin.  It can be used as a sole treatment, or to complement other treatments.  It is suitable for adults and children from the age of 4 months.

Although Salt Therapy is new to Australia, in many countries in Eastern Europe it is considered a conventional therapy.

How Salt Therapy Works?

While sitting in the Salt Room, patients are instructed to breathe normally.  Clients in the Adult Room are invited to relax while in the Kid’s Room children are encouraged to play with the salt.

Our Salt rooms are built with salt bricks excavated from the salt mines in Ukraine. The temperature and humidity levels in the room are controlled, to simulate a salt cave microclimate, and allow the salt particles to naturally be released from the bricks.

With each inhalation, Salt particles and Negative Ions travel through the sinuses and respiratory tract, absorbing moisture and cleansing, clearing mucus and killing bacteria.  The tiny salt particles are able to enter the respiratory system and be delivered to where they are most needed – deep into the lungs- where the salt then dissolves phlegm in the bronchial tubes, and kills micro-organisms that cause infections.

The phlegm, allergens, bacteria and any small impurities are later coughed up by the patient or leave the body through other natural metabolic processes, such as bowel movements.
